Market – a group of people that are interested in a product, service, a lifestyle, a hobby, a brand, model, etc etc etc
Niche – a smaller defined segment of the market that is passionate about one of the above.
Keyword – people type in numerous words that are related to the market they want to know more about.
Long tail keyword – the intent of the searcher “why do they type in a keyword phrase” this helps you know how to market to them and find your buyer keywords to target on.
Example:
Market – car insurance
Niche – teenage car insurance
Keyword – car insurance quote
(its just a keyword not long or short it doesn’t tell you anything about who you are marketing to and why) it could be anybody or mean anything, its just a starting point.
This is where 99% of marketers screw up and start to market on this keyword.

“how do I find the best car insurance quote for my teenager”
“where can I find cheap car insurance for my teenage son/daughter”
When you see these phrases or similar phrases online, you start to understand how to market and what you need to market to pull in your lazer targeted traffic.
This come with experience after doing it for awhile, but as well it reallyboils down to a bit of thinking outside the box when your thinking about moving into a niche market.
